Mar 1, Sat., 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Union University Community Art Program presents “Wire Sculpture for Ages 9-12”.  Event Location: Union Univ Dept of Art.  For details contact Debra Tayloe 731-661-5076.  Tuition: $65 (includes all materials).  Children will create a wire sculpture based on contemporary sculptors’ work.

Mar 6, Thur, 12:00 p.m., Jackson-Madison County Librar/ Friends of the Library presents “First Thursday Book Review”.   For more details call 731-425-8600.  The event will be held in the Program Center.   A group of children’s writers (including Pat Winston, Joan Hartman, Jill Taylor, Ann-Beverly Stamps) will display and sign their books.

Mar 8, Sat. 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Penwomen’s Association presents “Quarterly Meeting” at the Norma Dennison Art Studio, 427-5774.  Free Admission.  Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m.  To welcome new members, share poems, writings and awards in art.

Mar 8, Sat. 7:30 p.m. Jackson Symphony Association presents “Firebirds and Butterflies” at the Carl Perkins Center.  Contact Matthew Stover 731-427-6440.  $20 General Admission/Balcony; $12 Student/Senior.  TJS Concertmaster, Sue-Jean Park, performs “The Butterfly Lovers” violin Concerto that tells the tragic story of young lovers in ancient China.  This concert also features Starvinsky’s magical “Firebird Suite”.
